Week 5 - Reflection

This week we focused on Poetry Anthology. We looked at Roger Mcgough's poem, The Midnight Skaters.

We used personification, which means we had to make objects have human qualities. I chose the kitchen, because it was easier to write about.

Midnight in the Kitchen

The sun’s gone down
The stars light up the sky
It is quiet all around
Day has gone by.

The kitchen is silent
Everything’s still
The stars remain vibrant
Nothing moves, until

One by one, the knives and forks,
Come out of their hiding places
They jump out onto the porch
Then they start punching each other’s faces

The spoons come out to look around
There’s no human in sight
They land on the cold, hard ground
And then they join the fight

After a few hours of fighting,
They stop to take a breath.
They catch a glimpse of light on the horizon.
It’s time for them to rest.

And then we watched Charlotte's Web with Room 17. I worked with Sam, Kate B, and Nina.
